PhD position Bioinorganic Chemistry at the University of Vienna
In the group of Prof. Christian Kowol at the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry, University of Vienna, a PhD position is available from December 1st, 2020. The project will be carried out as part of the “Translational Cancer Therapy Research” research cluster in close cooperation with the Institute for Cancer Research at the Medical University of Vienna (http://tctr.univie.ac.at/).
Implementation of research projects with a strong focus on the synthesis and characterization of novel tumor-inhibiting metal compounds and their (bio)analytical investigation. The project will be integrated into the highly interdisciplinary research of the FWF project "The tumor microenvironment as target and regulator of anticancer (metal) drug response”.
You will be part of the Vienna Doctoral School in Chemistry (https://doschem.univie.ac.at/)
Completed diploma or master’s degree in chemistry, preferably in the field of synthetic chemistry or an equivalent qualification. Experience in the synthesis of biologically active compounds as well as in the field of analytical and preparative HPLC. Ability to work in a team, excellent command of written and spoken English.
30 h per week. Classification under the collective agreement of the university: B1; Gross monthly salary: € 2.205.60
